It's a sunny day! I'm hoping to tweak Soo's face-up a little (as you can see, his existing eyebrows have been erased and his lashes removed), and get started on Hyuui-girl with some light sanding and blushing.

Shiina
I will be writing up a profile afresh for each of my dolls, along with an updated headshot. Alongside, I think I’ll also repost pictures of my older dolls from the archives... so look forward to those! ^-^ Let’s start with my “number one”, Shiina:
Name: Shiina Chihiro (椎名千尋)
Sculpt: Volks MSD Hewitt 1st (oldskin)
Arrived: March 2004
Provenance: Ordered from Volks via Domuya in December 2003
Shiina is a reserved boy who keeps to himself and likes his privacy - so he would doubtless be dismayed to find out that, despite his best efforts, he's a rather well-known figure in the school community where the Small Wonder crew is set. XD Many of the younger students and even his peers would describe him as "mature", "mysterious", or "cool".... even though he isn't really any of those things. Fun facts about him: he has a massive sweet tooth, and is actually really good with little kids. Shiina was separated from his parents at a young age and sent to live with his grandmother, where he was given a strict and formal upbringing in a large and lonely house. He did begin to open up with a friend at his previous school, but then he was sent away to the Small Wonder boarding school where he now lives, in relative peace until a certain someone appeared...
My thoughts: Shiina will always be special to me. I first learnt about Super Dollfies from a friend named Djinn, but I was not interested in owning one myself until I laid eyes on a Volks website photo of MSD Hyuui sometime in 2003... Despite how grainy and low-res that photo was, he just drew me in. The sculpt is special and stands out to me even now, fifteen years on. I don’t really have doll goals, but I do dream on and off of having an oldskin Hewitt girl... someone like the inimitable Carsha from the now-defunct Japanese website *tears (still one of the most beautiful dolls I think I’ve ever seen). Looking at him now, with the distance of time, I think Shiina carries many aspects of my own personality, perhaps because he was my first doll. :)
