“Hero,” a soft voice pulled them from their deep sleep “it’s time to wake up, my dear.”
Immediately Hero felt more alert (they were still deeply entranced and blissfully dazed, just less sleepy). Their eyes opened to see the lobby of the villain league base, this didn’t concern them as much as it should.
Villains arm was around their waist, both supporting and guiding them through the base. As they got to the floor they needed to go to, Hero was vaguely aware of Villains colleagues gawking and staring at them. The two eventually reached a metal door at the end of the hall, Villain opened it and led Hero inside.
The room was covered in wall-to-wall padding with a small twin bed in the corner. It was akin to a bedroom you’d see in a mental hospital. Once Hero was settled into their new bed, Villain released them from their trance.
“W-where am I?” Hero asked, still a bit out of it from the trance.
“welcome to the villain league, Hero.” Villain said, no sign of remorse in their voice. Hero ignored them, trying to open the padded door and throwing themselves against it when they couldn’t. Eventually they tired themselves out and sat against the door, disappointed and frustrated.
Villain had waited patiently for Hero’s tantrum to end. And when it did they lifted them in a bridal carry back to their bed. “You stay here while I go get the doctor.” As if they could leave even if they wanted to.
Villain started to leave when Hero found their voice. “Wait!” They turned around, “What do I need a doctor for?”
“To make you feel better, sweetheart.” Villain said sweetly before walking out. Hero didn’t bother protesting the term of endearment.
Where were they? The last thing they remembered was Villain saying that they wouldn’t be breaking up. Hero is trying to remember what happened next when Villain comes back with a man in a white coat trailing behind them.
They stop in front of Hero and the man begins to speak “Hero, it’s a pleasure to meet you, my name is doctor and I’ll be treating you.”
The rest of the doctors visit consists of Villain telling Doctor about Hero’s behavior and Doctor suggesting “solutions” not once did they acknowledge Hero or ask for their opinion on what would happen to them.
When Doctor and Villain finally turned back to Hero, it was so that they could tell them about the treatment they would be receiving. Hero didn’t know what any of the medications the doctor listed were, but it sounded like a lot.
One week later…
Hero was cuddled up in Villains arms, a placid expression on their face. The medications worked splendidly. Villain owned doctor a massive thank you.
They had been able to go back home after getting Hero stabilized and used to the medicine.
Thanks to their prescription, Hero was kept in a pharmaceutical haze. The drug cocktail made them to doped up to question anything Villain did or said.
Sometimes, Villain would feel bad about what they were doing to Hero, but as a villain they knew how to push their guilt away.
It’s better this way. They would tell themselves.
This way they can keep Hero safe. Who cares if they had to betray their trust to do it?
The End?
