I'm gonna create the tag #corey reads webcomics cause I'm thinking after I'm done with the Dumbing of Age liveblog I want to do more of these, Hcause I had a fun time with it.
I haven't decided what I'll do after, cause I'm still a ways off, but I have a couple options I want to consider. Some of these I'm already familiar with, so you can consider some of these a list of recommendations as well, unless I note I haven't engaged with it yet.
Any input you guys had would be cool too.
At the Bottom I've also included a list of comics I will definitely not be doing for reasons.
Liveblogs I would like to Maybe Do
Hyperdriven - This is a webcomic good friend and creator of @cloverandcutlass, @pied-piper-pluto, recommended me when I got SUPER sad during the parents weekend arc of Dumbing of Age. I have read a bit of it and I already love it. It's lighthearted Dumb Space Adventures which are My Shit as an old fan of Outlaw Star. Please read this comic, it's great and it pisses me off that its not more popular.
(While I'm at it, go read @cloverandcutlass also, the only reason I'm not doing a liveblog of this is because I already follow it closely and Know Shit, but it is fucking great. I'm super biased but it really is fantastic, please read it.)
Shortpacked! - One of the other earlier David Willis comics that @greatdinn tells me is great, I know its more of a workcom but that's about all I know. Holy shit I also can't believe this ran for 10 years, man these things are long. I think the odds are high of me eventually doing this one ... but I don't think I'll do that right after Dumbing of Age just cause like ... Dumbing of Age is long and has a hold on me and I should probably try to get my life back a little just in case, you know? lol
El Goonish Shive - The longest running webcomic I'm the most familiar with and have already read a large amount of. It's been a number of years since I did a binge, but I already know I like @danshive 's work a lot and seeing the improvement over time is cool as shit. Just another webcomic I like in the genre of these Dumb Young Adults Deserve Happiness
Scoob and Shag - Will absolutely do this at some point. If you've never heard of it ... please. PLEASE read this. More people need to know how fucking INSANE this is. Just start reading it and keep reading until you understand why I have this level of excitement. PLEAAAAASE.
Bob and George - So. Like. I don't know ... how well all of this necessarily holds up. It's like THE first sprite comic and I followed it as it was coming out pretty much all the way to the end. I loved it at the time. I dunno if I'll do this one tbh but I have a fondness for it so we'll see eventually.
Eight Bit Theater - Now THIS one I really do want to do at some point. Do people in like... 2025 know about this? It was huge back in the day and it was the first major thing done by Brian Clevinger, who currently writes Atomic Robo which is also really good. So this is a sprite comic reimagining of Final Fantasy 1 and I have a feeling this probably holds up pretty well, I think this'd be a fun one to revist.
Megatokyo - I read this a bunch back in the day and ... to be perfectly honest, I don't remember a whole whole lot about it, so mayyyyybe it'd be cool to revist? I dunno, I don't feel too strongly about it so I'm not sure if I'll end up doing this one, tbh
Homestuck - I'm too frightened.
Ctrl + Alt + Delete - I read this during the Loss era, I've already done my time.
