Big day for Another Strong Aliens yesterday. Took a tour of a local game store, and grew nauseated at the ignorant prices on retro games, while picking up a treasure trove of arcade gaming: Toaplan, Irem and Data East all represented, also a Hyper Mega Tech Atari Super Pocket. Ninja Golf is on it!

Got to showcase my Evercade Alpha to a friend, before hitting up a pretty decent BARcade and getting to play Rampage, 1943, Smash T.V., Atomic Punk, Golden Axe, SFIII Third Strike, TMNT, Time Crisis, some middling modern pinball machines, D&D Shadow Over Mystara, Metal Slug III, and countless others... all set to free play.

Later on, I was privileged to be able to hear a sneak preview of the soundtracks my friend is composing for 2 separate upcoming games and enjoying the aurora borealis, however faint it may have been from our location.

Brought home the initial sacrifices to my Evercade Alpha: Toaplan Arcade 3, Irem Arcade 1, and the strangely named Windjammers, Karnov & Friends. Also shelled out for a Hyper Mega Tech Atari Super Pocket, which is adorable once in hand.

Went ahead and purchased the Hyper Mega Tech Super Pocket Atari Edition. Lookit how glorious this unit is in its stark black and red colorway. Aesthetic aside, I deliberately chose the Atari branded edition since my video gaming experience started on the Atari 2600 by way of the Coleco Gemini. With the addition of the EverSD cartridge running RetroArch, this is going to be the ultimate love letter to video gaming, and my one stop shop for (pretty much) everything I'm going to want to play. Only fitting to homage where it all began for me.
