Green hydrogen projects tender at Kandla shifts integration risk
Green hydrogen projects in India’s mobility segment have received a technically demanding tender from NTPC Green Energy Limited for a hydrogen refuelling station at Kandla, Gujarat. The package is being procured through domestic competitive bidding on a single-stage two-envelope basis. It covers design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning, along with ten years of O&M. Green hydrogen projects in this case have a clear risk split: NGEL will supply the electrolyser rated at 210 kg H2/day, while the contractor must deliver the downstream system. The contractor scope includes 500 bar compression at 20 kg/hr, 540 kg storage at 500 bar, 350 bar dispensing for 11 fuel-cell electric vehicles, nitrogen generation, fire suppression, HT integration, BESS, SCADA and EMS. EnergylineIndia.com highlights this update for readers tracking National Green Hydrogen Mission-linked procurement and Latest EPC power projects. Green hydrogen projects are still early-stage in India, so qualification gates are important. The tender requires average annual turnover of at least Rs 59 crore and an EPC or developer track record of at least Rs 47 crore in one energy-sector contract. Green hydrogen projects also face uncertainty because ZLD, ETP, site grading and raw-water details were pushed toward detailed engineering. Green hydrogen projects here are therefore as much about lifecycle risk as construction.
