#hydrangea cookie x reader

you and hydrangea had met because you both worked for the blue dragon.

first time hydrangea laid eyes on you, she was in love. same goes for you !!

within a few weeks, maybe 5 or 6, you two were together.

you loved your girlfriend very much. but you also really liked her pet frog.

one day floral froglet had gotten loose. hydrangea was very busy and asked you to get the cute frog back. you accepted the task & started looking.

you were in hortensia town when you spotted the frog. it also spotted you and starting running away. you chased after it in the direction it was going in.

you ended up catching floral froglet, but not before you saw more & more frogs. your eyes lit up !! you had floral froglet in your arms as you looked at all the frogs.

you accidentally stayed there for a long time & hydrangea had to go looking for you. she found you somewhat quickly & was quite amused by where you were.

she was glad you found her frog. she sat down beside you and you two talked for a while before heading back to the lotus palace.

so, whenever you two aren’t busy, you go to the place full of frogs and observe. oftentimes you try to take a few frogs home and hydrangea has to politely tell you that you can’t.

The palace walls seemed to shy away from you as you grew near, making the place seem much bigger than it actually was. You weren’t sure *how* you’d gotten here, actually…

Being a traveler, many had warned you to stay away from this little village and the forest surrounding it. The inhabitants have fallen victim to a mysterious curse, said the whispers that reached your ears. It made you all too eager to play with danger and see what was up with the place.

Besides, it wasn’t like you could fall for the curse, right?

But you must have gotten turned around, or lost, or something, because now you were here, in an ornate palace with no clue how you’d even gotten here in the first place—

“How did you get in here? Are you lost?” A voice broke you out of your thoughts, a light and soft one that drew you in and practically commanded you to turn around.

You were met face to face with a breathtakingly beautiful cookie, with purple hair and wearing flowing silk robes. Dew drops gathered at the edges of her long eyelashes, splashing onto the ground as she fluttered them.

“Um— I— Lost? I-I’m not— I mean, I am, but—“ you stammered, unable to help but feel stupid in front of the elegant cookie. She merely tilted her head, a small amused smile gracing her features. You wanted to stare at that smile forever.

“So you are lost,” she giggled. “It’s okay. There’s no shame in it. Why not stay awhile? We can look at the flowers.” She moved closer, extending a hand to you, that you took after a moment of hesitation.

The mysterious cookie led you through the palace, and you couldn’t help but stare around in awe at the architecture. Surely a very rich and powerful cookie must live here.

“So…um…” you cleared your throat, trying to start conversation. “Do you take care of all of this yourself?”

She let out a light laugh, a sound like the soft tinkling of a bell. “No, no! Definitely not. I live here with my master, the Great Dragon.”

“A— A dragon?” You gaped. “This palace belongs to a dragon?” You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. You’d half a mind to think she was pulling your leg, but there was no such tone behind her voice.

“But of course. I work for them to maintain the palace’s appearance and order. But work can be a bit much sometimes…” she stopped walking, having lead you outside into a large sprawling garden. The sky was overcast and it had begun to sprinkle rain, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care, too focused on the beautiful cookie leading you over to a bench by a clump of hydrangeas.

“I always enjoy coming here to relax. There’s nothing like watching the flowers.” She giggled as you sat down beside her. “It’s one of my favorite things to do.”

You tilted your head, staring absently into the flowers. The rain had begun to feel soothing to you, you didn’t mind being wet. More droplets of water gathered at the ends of her eyelashes.

“Are you enjoying yourself?” She hummed after some silence had lapsed between you.

You nodded. “Yeah…it’s…nice.” You haven’t felt this at peace in such a long time, you almost dreaded when you’d have to leave.

“Isn’t it?” She smiled at you. “To me, theres nothing like watching the flowers. Watching them sway in the wind, watching the insects that make their home among them…truly the most beautiful sight in all of Earthbread.”

You soaked in every word, her melodic voice making it easy for you. She was right. Until now, you had never stopped to observe the small beauties nature had to offer, but you felt yourself start to appreciate them more.

You wished you could stay forever. You wished you could stay with *her* forever.

Eventually she stood up, raising a hand to catch a few raindrops. “As much as I would love to stay out here longer, I would hate for my dear guest to catch a cold. Come,” she offered her hand which you graciously took this time. “let’s head inside.”

“Sounds good to me.” You bowed your head shyly. “I…might have to head out anyways. I’d hate to intrude.”

“Oh?” She tilted her head at you. “Leaving so soon? That’s a shame. It gets…rather lonely here, sometimes. The dragon isn’t always around to keep me company…”

You felt your heart skip a beat. “I would hate to overstay my welcome…”

“You wouldn’t be overstaying anything.” your guide’s voice softened as she drew her gaze over the walls of the palace, and then over you, as if she were admiring a work of art. “I’m sure my master would welcome you with open arms. I already have. Please, come and keep me company for a little while longer.”
