Q: if you could freeze one single moment in season 2 forever, for good or bad which one would it be and why?

???!!!! so many thoughts and feelings, lots to unpack BUT AS FAR AS THEORIES GO? if that pic/truly/ is from 2x05 and most Hyde/Tyler drama is getting solved in ep 5 Wednesday wouldn't need an AXE?? in 2x08(the finale ep mind you!) with Tyler???!! that shows his Jekyll & Hyde arc is going and will continue to be... GOING..

is it that scene we saw glimpses of in the trailers?? W with an axe?

Werewolves and Hydes are the only Outcast types that completely transform into an animal(istic being)...

…and there’s typically some amount of drama around when and how they first transform (especially for late-blooming Weres/Alphas)

The two most important peer characters to Wednesday are a Werewolf (Enid) and a Hyde (Tyler) 

Aside from other Hydes, Werewolves are the only beings that can (without weapons) even begin to physically take on a Hyde—as seen between Enid and Tyler (1x08), and referred to by Isadora Capri about her Hyde boyfriend Alfie’s attack (2x05) 

Tyler's cell in Willow Hill was “originally designed for a schizophrenic Werewolf” (2x02) 

Hydes and Alpha Werewolves are outcasts among Outcasts—ostracized for being deemed too dangerous and uncontrollable for “mainstream” Outcast society (Hydes) or their packs (Alphas)

Francoise’s genuine but also projected fear for Tyler being a Hyde and trying to relieve him of it so he’ll be “normal” (and preserve his life) invertedly mirrors Enid’s mother’s fear of her never transforming into her wolf and trying to send her to a camp to solve the issue so she’ll be “normal” (x) 

When Francoise fell to her death, in Hyde form, she was caught/held in the arms of Nevermore’s Werewolf statue, evoking Pietà imagery (which I found to be especially poignant after s2 seemed to give extra visual emphasis to that statue) 

The show’s main Werewolf/Alpha character (Enid) and its main Hyde character (Tyler) now have a mutual connection to Isadora Capri, due to her knowledge of Alphas and Hydes

Isadora is a Werewolf with a Hyde father…

meaning her mother is a Werewolf and she's the product of a Hyde/Werewolf relationship…

which she later mirrored in her relationship with Alfie

Something that stood out to me in the Novelization was that Fester mentioned Witches, when he listed the different kinds of Outcasts that Faulkner studied when he was founding Nevermore. However, I’m wondering if witches are separate from psychics, or if it’s just another term for them.

As a Wyler shipper myself, I find it extremely hypocritical when other “so-called” Wyler shippers (they know who they are 🙄) bash or completely dehumanise or vilify someone just as tragic as Francoise! Or even compare her to someone like Laurel for that matter! Especially when how many of us have spent the past three years trying to explain Tyler’s status as a victim of grooming, manipulation, abuse and neglect by Laurel and Donovan from haters of all corners of the Wednesday fandom.

Like Tyler, Francoise’s actions are driven by the events that took place in her life, but also what others have inflicted upon them!

She was physically abused by her father to the point where her Hyde was unlocked, and her status as a Hyde more than likely caused her to be shunned by most kids at Nevermore (Remember her words to Morticia – “You were always so kind to me in school” – that tells me that Morticia was one of the few people that treated her well whereas others did not!) Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if Morticia and Gomez kept the nature of Isaac’s death a secret from her. Like she wakes up after the explosion and finds her brother’s body, and Morticia and Gomez say that it was an accident which ends up believing for many years until Isaac comes back into the picture, tells her what really happened (his version obviously), and that’s a main reason as to why she has no qualms abetting in the sacrifice of Pugsley. That and the fact that years of isolation and torture turned her into an emotionally unstable person.

But back to the main points. No one had done much to help Hydes since Faulkner. They were stigmatized and seen as a thing to be feared! So of course, Francoise is going to be afraid and hate what she is. Because being a Hyde is what got her put in Willow Hill, locked away and hidden from her family for many years, and also subjugated to experimentation by an ambitious horrible scientist. Taking away Tyler’s powers without his consent was not a good move by her, but it clearly shows us why she did it! She was afraid of it happening to her son! Her misguided actions are driven by the pain of all the horrible shit that has happened to her, which is why she’s tragic!

I saw someone verbally bash her for not telling Donovan that she was a Hyde. Again, not her best decision I’ll admit, but has anyone considered that she was also afraid of being rejected and losing the man she fell in love with, the one person whom became attached to since Isaac died? Anyone?! Donovan wasn’t horrible towards Outcasts, but he wasn’t trusting or friendly with them either, let’s be real about that. (Not Donovan bashing here, but let’s be real)

The comparisons of her to someone like Laurel or even Hester Frump are entirely unfair because the conditions surrounding them are completely different.

The Francoise that got freed was not stable or mentally healthy enough to be a mother, but that was through no fault of her own! Do not be a hypocrite and defend Tyler, but have no understanding or sympathy for Francoise when she is just as tragic as her son.
