Tyler Galpin x Hyde!Reader
Another one. Got enough inspiration to finish another little drabble about him. :) Again, a product of the Tyler Galpin brain worms from last year.
It was also slightly inspired by Bones and All, though I haven't actually, like, watched the movie, I really liked the idea of two fucked up people just finding each other and roadtripping, idk.
Anyways. Tyler Galpin, mwah. Hope u enjoy
Safe...
It was a strange thing to feel, after all heâs been through. But that was how he could best describe it right now, half-asleep on a motel bed, listening to the soft sounds of you breathing next to him. You were like him, a grotesque monster hidden underneath your skin, a Hyde; you had the scars to confirm it, and he had similar ones.
You had found him in the sewers after his escape from Willow Hill, something deep inside you drawing you to him. Maybe it was a coincidence, or maybe your Hydes craved connection, something to prove they werenât alone. Youâd been on the run ever since, never staying in one place long enough to raise suspicion about your affliction. Been a few months since then.
You two donât talk much about how you came to be, how your Hydes âunlockedâ... Too much of a sore subject for both of you; besides, youâd both killed your masters, that was enough context to know it wasnât pleasant. Not that it ever is.
This motel was the most recent one youâd been staying at, a bit dingy and 80s-looking, but you get what you pay for; no IDs were required, and relative anonymity was guaranteed regarding your room number. This was the second night, and you both relaxed, just slightly. No mishaps or fuck-ups, yet. Though who knows when thatâd happen, tomorrow or maybe a few days from now.
But for now, he silently watches you breathe, a peaceful expression on your face. A rarity, considering everything. Youâre sort of a mystery to him, still. Not unsettlingly so, just enough for him to want to know more. He knew the basics, both from what youâve told him and what heâs picked up on.
Your name, your same age as him, how long youâve been a Hyde, the fact that you were in the same masterless boat as he is, and you originating from a town not too far from Jericho. All things youâve told him with little to no prodding.
And the things heâs noticed. You unconsciously pick at the skin around your nails, you tense whenever someone gets too close to you, you tend to dissociate after a transformation, you always keep sweet things on hand, and youâve, slowly, started to take a liking to wearing his clothes. With a limited wardrobe between the two of you, he guesses itâs normal. He doesnât really mind.
You were currently cozy in his hoodie, worn from the years but still soft, the fraying string of the hood caught between your cheek and the pillow; heâd move it, but he doesnât want to risk waking you.
The nightâs quiet outside, the moon is soft behind the window curtains, and the sound of your breathing is soothing. All a recipe for his half-asleep self to actually fall under. Nightmares were less common when you were around the other.
Another respite you both have found in each other.
I need him.
