hyacinth and kiki , elven sisters from duskrest, a nation of falrune, that have two totally different backstories despite growing up together. hyacinth was chosen to be a tribute for duskrest’s deadly games while kiki was raised and groomed to be a high commander’s wife. both suffered trauma in opposite worlds.

there’s no other explanation for this other than disgusting self indulgence. we’ll have to call it what it is, and we’ll have to see if hyacinth stands up to the test of time after all these years. what’ve we got rattling around in this tin can of a brain, hm ?

If anybody was born to be in front of the camera it would be Hyacinth. Humble and charismatic, there weren’t a lot of people with anything negative to say about them. They could be a little too much to handle at times but they made up for it in their work ethic. A cheerleader of some sort, you could always find Hyacinth supporting and helping their co-stars. Meeting Apollo Rhea was like completing a puzzle that he didn’t know had a piece missing. It began the happiest and longest relationship Hyacinth has ever had, and included being almost adopted into the Rhea family as a whole. If only Hyacinth’s secrets weren’t the cause of it’s slow downfall.

It started innocently enough, one night that turned late at a local casino, celebrating another finished film that would become a success. Hyacinth was in the company of friends, playing cards on the table, when a big win awakened a rush of adrenaline the likes of which they’ve never felt before, a rush that Hyacinth would continue to chase. Looking back, there was never any explanation for why they continued their pursuit, but maybe it was in their eyes, the anticipation, the need to feel that rush over and over again, fighting, to just taste it one last time. However, it was never one last time for them. It was always one more game, another deal– maybe one more time and the rush would be within reach again.

The public, their friends and their loved ones never knew anything was wrong. The money they earned in their occupation only helped fuel their illness. Hyacinth would say they were going elsewhere only to end up at the casino once again. It controlled their whole life to a point where their own money was gone, but the need for that rush remained, deeply rooted, and the only solution– a solution that made Hyacinth hate themself a little more– was to steal money from their lover, a person that never once questioned their loyalty.

Three years ago it all came to a boiling point. In the Tartarus casino they could win, the desperation in their eyes was obvious. But they lost once again and unfortunately it seemed like this was one loss too many. The loan sharks they’d used to continue their games at the casino were expecting to get paid and they weren’t taking no for an answer. Trying to stall for more time didn’t help either, the threats they received leading to them getting beaten up when they were unable to pay. Hyacinth was beaten so badly that he needed to be taken to a hospital, where his parents were contacted and took it as a sign and an opportunity. 

You see, Hyacinth’s parents never liked the Rheas, and despised the close relationship their son had with the infamous family. Their hatred was only fueled further when they blamed them for what happened on that night in Tartarus. The only logical step they saw in order to protect their son was to put in him in a private hospital in Arcadia, where he’s spend the last three years in a coma.
