hannah wasn’t sure what time it was — she’d woken up to the sun shining through her window to showcase the shenanigans of her previous night with blue and kieran — but someone had told her grizz was back from his camping trip and she couldn’t wait to see him. even despite her hangover, she rode her bike over to his house and left it on the driveway.
she knew where his mom hid the housekey, so she didn’t bother knocking. she let herself in, calling his name. “grizz? you awake?” she shut the door behind her and wandered through each room until she found him, eyes red and puffy, exhausted, dirty. “grizz?”
hannah changed instantly. she’d been so excited to see him, but she should’ve known something was wrong when she hadn’t heard good news, when he was back so soon. she hadn’t been thinking. “what’s wrong? what happened?” she took his arm and got in front of him, knowing his tendency to turn away when he was hurting. but she would always have his back. “hey. why are you crying?”
