“... I still look pretty enough?” There’s something dry in the way he’s managed to joke, even if his chest was getting pulled back together. Literally, damn bastards really brought a .45 to hunt him. If Manny honestly had a dollar for every time he ended up in this situation... 

“Just--enough t’ close it up... body ‘ll take care of the rest...” A short cough had him grimacing sharply. What a shit day this was. At least he wasn’t waking up on a table. 

That usually didn’t end well. 

“An’ that—said fuck off!--is why I said don’t open the fridge.” One arm and foot’s doing a decent job at forcing the door shut while the other’s blindly groping around the counterspace next to it. The fridge on the other hand? 

Well, it was shaking. Wildly. And having some very colorful opinions on why its current contents should be on this side and the very colorful things it was going to do to John’s asshole when it got out. In John’s defense, he thought the warning was pretty obvious.  

“Dumber than sodding rocks—shoulda been able t’ see it’s one way—there y’ are!” Finally his hand curls on a rather sketchy looking kitchen knife. Fridge door open again, and the thing that he seemed to have been fighting attempted a lunge—right into the knife. Blade sunk, he then knees the creature to make it fall back. Far. In fact, the distant thudding sound shouldn’t logically be possible.

Okay, this was awkward. In all fairness, putting down what reminded him of a chupacabra wasn’t exactly the easiest thing in the world. Not to mention the hard feeling of the claws still in his arm and the mess of his suit, he felt absolutely terrible. 

But that was probably from the infection already bubbling from the claw marks and not because of how long it'd been since his last violent encounter. He can ignore it for now, considering how weird the situation his new company walked up on probably looked. So much for this thing his mother sent...

“Asked m’self that one far too many times.” And probably wouldn’t ever, taking a long drag from his cigarette in response. A grimace from the taste, and maybe a glare at it for good measure. Stupid costs not even letting him have one thing today…

                              her head is pounding, the bathroom lights too bright, shooting pain to the back of her skull every time she blinks.   chucky is laughing somewhere in her right ear and every cackle feels like a spark in her fucking brain. blood smears over kitchen counter as she turns on the sink, trying to wash it away. her stomach churns as she looks at the crimson, how it mixes with water. nica pulls her hands away moves to grab a towel and wipe her face.

                              she jumps when she hears footsteps, navigates through the little apartment carefully, the only person who has a key is tiff, and she’s out of town for a gig, and  no one else is supposed to be here. not even the kids. no one else can be here, the door doesn’t have a bolt on the inside ( chucky has been dragging them through the fucking window . . . unless he left it open. )   “ hello ? ”

‘   now   i’m   lying   on   the   cold   ,   hard   ground   .   ’               jesus  christ .        head  tips  back  to  stretch  his  neck ,     back  cracking  unsatisfyingly  just  below  his  shoulder  blades ,      and  eddie  watches  the  glimmer  of  clouds  through  overhanging  branches .        it’s  getting  darker ,      or  is  that  just  his  dwindling  hope ?                                    ❝  screw  it .  ❞                           mumbled  words  pass  his  lips  like  a  poison ,      a  relief  to  spit  out ,       and  he  wills  stiff  knees  to  bend  enough  to  throw  himself  onto  his  back  beside  her .            fallen  branches  and  jagged  rocks  press  into  his  shoulders  and  threaten  to  tear  new  holes  in  his  clothes  should  he  even  move  an  inch .                                    ❝  this  is  horrible  .  ❞
