Angus was unsure what had happened, but suddenly one day his camera was malfunctioning and the next it wouldn't turn on at all.
No changing of batteries or chargers helped, nor did anything his shining star of a boyfriend tried to do to fix it with his knowledge of electronics. It was kaput, and Angus was distraught.
For a couple of days all he wanted to do was lie in bed and wallow, but Jackie did everything in his power to keep him up and moving; distracting him with television or stories of his heroic adventures; cooking together, though Angus was definitely the better cook by a long shot just because of his survival skills.
But then it was a day where Jackie had to go out for an emergency, somewhere Angus couldn't follow, and he ended up back in bed for hours on end.
Until the doorbell rang.
Angus knew he couldn't very well leave the door unanswered. What if it was another emergency? Not that Jackie was here to answer to it, but it could still be important.
He forced himself out of bed and out to the door and swung it open, expecting to be met with a person, but was instead greeted with a box on the floor in front of him. The delivery person had already gone, but reading the name on the box, it was addressed to him.
He picked it up and slunk back into the house to open it. It was nothing he had ordered, he was sure of it, but knowing Jackie and his mischievous nature…
Quicker now, he tore the box open and his hand dove into the box to fetch another, labelled, box. A new camera. He almost couldn’t believe it.
The call with Jackie that night was one filled with many praises and tears, from Jackie’s end, of course.
