french   fry   is   launched   in   his   direction,        hitting   nose   with   a   soft   thud.        the   sight   of   bewildered   company   is   enough   to   send   her   into   a   fit   of   laughter,       it   roars   loudly   as   head   is   thrown   back.        turns   out   it   wasn't   such   a   waste   of   french   fry   after   all.         𝗁𝖺𝗇𝖽𝗌   𝖼𝗅𝗎𝗍𝖼𝗁   𝗌𝗍𝗈𝗆𝖺𝖼𝗁,         trying   to   regain   composure   between   gasps   for   air.        she   didn’t   care   that   people   were   looking   in   their   direction,        IT   WASN’T   OFTEN   THEY   FOUND   THEMSELVES   SHARING   MOMENTS   OF   PEACE.

blood   is   wiped   from   cheek   before   same   hand   is   curled   into   a   fist   to   punch   him   in   arm.        unbridled   laughter   erupts   at   the   commentary   that   had   just   been  shared   between   them.      his   company   was   something   that   brought   out   the   better   in   her,      letting   her   guard   down   slightly.       a   playful   softness   shown   to   the   sheriff.      𝚜𝚑𝚎’𝚍   𝚊𝚕𝚠𝚊𝚢𝚜   𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚒𝚊𝚝𝚎𝚍   𝚌𝚘𝚘𝚙𝚎𝚛   even   if   she   never   vocalised   it,      his   good   heart   making   him   a   standout   amongst   other   hunters.         lips   are   pulled   upwards   as   she   beams,       frame   leans   against   the   body   of   her   red   ‘70   chevelle.                                

she   shouldn’t   be   here.       a   part   of   her   screams   that   this   is   weakness,      showing   vulnerability   is   frowned   upon   in   her   mind.      twisted   view   shared   with   departed   father.         trembling   hands   grip   door   frame,        steadying   self.       tears   risk   spilling   down   cheeks,       held   at   bay   by   bloodshot   eyes.        huntress   persona   eludes   her   in   this   moment,      nothing   more   than   a   broken   woman.        fatal   flaw   is   admitting   when   she   needs   help,      willing   to   drive   herself   well   over   the   edge    before   even   considering   it.         arms   should   be   wrapped   around   him   in   a   gesture   of   thankfulness   but   they   don’t   budge,      fears   of   opening   up   to   those   around   her   holds   her   back.       they   eat   her   alive,       mind   a   morose   place.       𝚞𝚗𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚐   𝚝𝚘   𝚋𝚞𝚛𝚍𝚎𝚗   𝚑𝚒𝚖   with   the   demons   that   run   amuck   inside.  

jaw   sets,       gaze   returns   to   friend.         being   needed   like   this   was   still   a   relatively   new   concept   to   the   huntress,         𝚌𝚘𝚕𝚍   𝚍𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚊𝚗𝚘𝚛   paired   with   inability   to   cultivate   bonds   often   made   her   lone   wolf.       yet   here   he   was   despite   it   all,        telling   her   that   she   was   the   only   one   left.       she   should   feel   honoured,      grateful   for   his   faith   in   her.      but   all   she   feels   is   𝖿𝖾𝖺𝗋.      the   fear   of   failing   him,     not   being   the   person   that   he   needs   her   to   be.      swallowing   hard   she   pushes   it   aside,      sheepish   grin   settling   upon   cracked   lips.         ❛❛   that’s   an   awful   lot   of   faith   you’re   puttin’   in   me   warren.       i   just   hope   it’s   not   MISPLACED.   ❜❜
