Gerry who became so obsessed with hunting down books that he ignored everything else around him.
Gerry who then started hunting avatars, only the ones with Leitners, he starts getting a taste for killing them, and convinces himself that he's doing the world a favour.
Gerry who with this logic stopped only hunting avatars with Leitners, and instead goes straight for the kill, he revels in it, not only is he protecting people who the avatars might feast on, but he's getting back at his Mother, who brought these things into his home when he was only a child, who called them her friends.
Gerry who feels these urges for violence, for tracking them down, for hunting and killing them.
Soon enough he notices how his teeth have sharpened, how he gets antsy if it's been too long, how now his only for reason for doing what he does is for the sake of it, for the fear in these things eyes.
