renjun didn’t know why he found himself in front of your stove, hair slicked back as he carefully watched over the pot of instant ramen noodles at nearly 2 in the morning. actually, he did. he was in the middle of trying to fall asleep when you had blown up his phone—panicking about how you burned your precious mac and cheese pack. so, with sleep hanging heavy on his eyelids, he chooses to ignore that reason and tries to focus on cooking you something to eat.

“renjuuuun, i’m sorry for waking you,” you whisper sheepishly. you knew how irritable your boyfriend could get if he were to be disturbed in his sleepy state, but to your surprise he stands there eerily calm as he switches your stove off.

you watch as he drains your noodles and neatly places it into a bowl for you to enjoy. your eyes practically turn into hearts as he sits in front of you while pushing the steaming bowl of ramen forward towards you. his eyes are drooping as he sets his chin on his hand, staring at you.

“you know you can’t cook, what the hell possessed you to cook at two in the morning?” he yawns, watching as your eyes light up at the taste of his own mac and cheese. “thish ish sho gewd!”

he can’t help but laugh as you attempt to speak with your mouth brimming with noodles, your cheeks puffing out as you stuff them full. he loved to cook for you, even now as he nearly dozes off into dreamland.

“i was working on my paper and well—i didn’t have any groceries! those things are expensive…” you murmur, gulping down the last of renjun’s delicious noodles.

he scrunches his nose as you lick at your fork, grinning widely at him, “you should still budget your money for those things, y’know?”

renjun’s heavy sigh amuses you as you syand to place the bowl into the sink, your very sleepy boyfriend standing from his position in your small kitchen.

“c’mon sleepyhead. my bed’s starting to look real comfy.”
