For this post I re-blogged, Mapping my Space from the Sky, romerohum220-2’s post, and Seeing from Above. These 3 maps were either similar to mine or just simply caught my attention in a creative manner. Mapping my Space from the Sky showed a different perspective of my personal space, romerohum220-2’s post caught my attention with their creative mix of the field but also the unique way the picture was captured, and Seeing from Above was a fun and unique look at their space, which I really enjoyed observing. My map was of the outside of the Wrec Center and my personal space is the rock wall area inside the gym. I enjoyed re-blogging these 3 specific maps not only for the athletic and creative comparisons of our spaces, but also for the different perspectives they brought to life through their maps.
Mapping my Space from the Sky was similar to my post yet from a different type of map. Mine was a generic street, building and aerial view whereas his brought more of a “real life” perspective where you could see the building and the road as if you were floating over it. I enjoyed seeing this done to take in a different view of the outside of my space. Both of ours were the same basic ideas yet taken to further lengths in order to create a more personal view of our spaces. It was fun to see the outside of my space through someone else’s standpoint.
Romerohum220-2’s post caught my attention the second I saw it. It was once again through the “real life” view like the previous blog I spoke about but in this case it was of a more earthy and natural area. The map compared to mine through the sense of athleticism that most take in from a gym or sports field, but I did not re-blog it purely for that reason. I enjoyed how you could see the people below and imagine what they just might be participating in or doing. I also liked the trees at the furthest north part of the map, basically because being that I do my rock climbing from an indoor facility, I would like to have more of a natural vibe such as felt in their map. This map was a fun and interesting view of a typical sports complex or field that were normally don’t get from a basic persons standpoint.
Lastly, Seeing from Above was an interesting view of their space. The color and creativity of the map was a fun perspective of a somewhat basic area that may be overlooked by the people that pass by it daily. This spatial map instantly caught my attention through the hand-drawn aspect of the map that did not lack any sense of creativity or color. It made me wish that I to had hand-drawn my map, even though I’m sure it would not have turned out as pretty. The other part that caught my attention is that I have been to this space but never had thought deeper into in such as they have in their posts. This map was an interesting take on the plaza that I would never had considered if I did not see it.
