Proved the minute he heard a pole that must have gotten loose smack into somebody. More worried about the equipment before realizing hitting somebody unintentionally with it could be bad too. “Might I suggest not staring at your phone, and walking in the middle of the hallway.” 

As soon as he asked what her problem was, her freckled features became a warm shade of pink. He wasn’t wrong either. Even though she had invited him to her party, she had also invited everyone else, so it wasn’t like he had some obligation to hang out with her and her alone. They weren’t together, hadn’t been for sometime. But she couldn’t explain why it annoyed her so much to see him dancing and talking to another girl. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean any of it.” Her gaze shifted down to the drink in her hand for a moment before returning to him. “..I guess I still get a little jealous.”

“Of course I can, baby.” Her voice is loving as she speaks, cradling him with her words while she pulls him closer to rest against her, wrapping him in her arms and letting him place his head on her chest so he could be comfortable. “Are you okay, sweetheart? Do you wanna talk about it at all?” Heidi reaches up to pet his hair, keeping her voice soft as to not overwhelm or startle him, she knows how sensitive Clyde can be. 

“So don’t fucking let me down.”

One of my most favorite parts about writing Damien is the different relationships (as in friendships, etc) he has with other muses. Damien has a difficult time relating to people despite wanting to very badly, so it’s fun to write out his attempts, whether things go well or end up with him ruining first/new impressions.
