pumpkin - do you think that humans are inherently good or bad?
you know, if you asked me a couple years ago, i would have replied “good” without hesitation. i still want to believe in that, tbh. that “bad” is learned, but then, if i think about it, who taught it to us? years and years of “bad” accumulating… from people, too. idk. they’re both subjective, too, aren’t they? lately i’ve been thinking maybe sometimes, some people are just… not good. i don’t understand. i don’t think i ever will. everything is grey these days.
i do want to believe that it’s in each one of us to be good, though. we all have the capability to be good, or at least, to be better. or we can learn how to be good again, how to be better. sometimes the environment and the rest of the world makes it hard, but i want to believe we are good.
