It felt as if Gladions very life was doing a graceful swan dive off of a cliff. Everything he knew was turned upside down and he was left struggling to breathe. Even the short rest they took in Aether left him only feeling more awake and high strung.Â
At first, he was planning to stay behind- he was a coward not wanting to face her head on, leaving his little sister to do the dirty work.Â
A grim, twisted frown marred his face, his eyes dull green, stare out at the canyon glazed over. One could say it looked like the stare of a dead man. It mattered little to him, he pushed any thoughts and feelings to the back of his mind leaving this all-consuming numbness to take hold of him.Â
He was only functioning with one goal in mind
To reach Lusamine before Lillie had too.Â
He couldnât with a clear conscience let Lillie face her alone- No, thatâs not right. He couldn't let her face Lusamine at all.
She shouldn't have even been forced into this position, it was his responsibility as the eldest to face difficult challenges such as this, not hers. Though how he had managed to make it to Poni Island while in this state of mind was beyond him. One moment he was waving his sister and friend off of Aether the next he was rushing through caves to reach the altar. He was almost there too- almost being the keyword.Â
It looks like now was the time to prove just how determined he was.Â
A wormhole had opened in front of him- letting out what appeared to be a brick tower. The many blue eyes swiveled twoards him, staring him down. They both stood in tense silence until the UBâs eyes turned bright red- signaling itâs intent to attack. With every step it took, Gladion could feel the ground shake with its weight but it wouldnât shake his resolve.Â
Glareing at the beast before him his lip curled in a snarl, âYouâre in my way.âÂ
