#human-ing

The reason I’ve been thinking a lot about conscious vs natural human-ing lately, for the record, is that I stepped down from management three months ago (to be part of the team instead) because I was tired. And it’s much better! Lots of things aren’t my problem any more and that feels great. I am much less tired. (Also I took my iron supplements properly, on an empty stomach with orange juice, and lost a few kilograms which may have made the constant endometriosis pain lighten up a bit. Annoyingly, self-care works). However several colleagues appear surprised that parts of my attitude that they thought were intrinsic, like listening sympathetically for hours to their interpersonal conflicts, were just me trying to do my fucking job. Which is no longer my job, and I have other work which is more fun (though I am always here to listen to my replacement complain about how hard it is, which delights me). So, yeah. It’s made me think about how to proceed with boundaries, and what parts of human-ing are voluntary but a good idea, and what parts it’s okay to not have time for today. 

I suck at human-ing.
