Justice, respect, freedom!
[Core Wheatley will be taking the reins on this one, unless his other counterparts have something to interject. No one can answer things about himself better than Wheatley himself!]
"Hm.. Let’s see here.. Justice.. Yeh.. Well.. To me, Justice is what you justly deserve, really. Heheh.. Justly.. Justice.. Get it..? …Right.. Answering the question. You see, really, justice is getting what you’ve deserved, what you’ve had coming. Justice is gettin’ that control over your life and everyone else’s after having to deal with nothing but people bossin’ you around. It’s that real moment of glory when you’ve got all the pieces put together, an’ you feel great.. Jus’.. ..absolutely fantastic. …But it’s also that moment when you’re sent hurtling into space, realizing you really did deserve what you got. ..Yeh.. in the end.. That’s what justice is.”
"Respect! Ah, yeh.. That’s a great word, there, that one. It’s getting what you justly deserve, you know. ..Wait.. yeh.. I already said that with the last one.. Well.. eheh.. heh.. ..It’s not far off from the same thing, though, honest. I think I rightly deserve some respect after all I’ve been through!"
A small bespectacled human pushes his core counterpart off to the side. “Ah.. That’s not quite right, mate. You think you deserve some respect? Let me tell you about that… Tell me who you think deserves a bit of respect after you’ve dealt with half of the nonsense I have! My title is meaningless, yeh.. They think callin’ me the Head Director of Exhibitional Dormitories for Institutional Volunteers would make me feel rightly proud.. yeh.. But you know what? I know it’s just a bunch of fluff, an’ sure it does make me feel good.. But it’s fake! It’s just fake.. The grins on their faces as they say it.. The snickers in my direction when I try to cram myself into my office. Mate, now let me tell you.. My office is a broom closet, no joke. My desk barely fits in it, actually. My chair is permanently wedged between the desk and the wall, an’ I risk hitting my head on my filing cabinet if I try to look up a test subject’s file!”
The irked core looked over at his human counterpart. “But isn’t that really just a definition of a lack of respect..? No offense meant, or anything, of course..”
Dexter adjusted his glasses a little, a weak grin on his face. “Yeh.. I guess you’re right there. But still, knowing the opposite of respect defines it, doesn’t it? Respect is given to those in power.. To great men. ..I guess I’m just not one of those yet..”
"…You do realize it was rather disrespectful for you to interrupt my definition earlier, y’know?" The core blinks, tilting to the side as it inspected the human before him.
"Oh.. Eheh.. heh.. I guess it was, wasn’t it now? Sorry about that, mate.. I’ll.. er.. let you continue with your answers then." Dexter Wheatley rubbed at the back of his neck as he sheepishly trotted away.
"…Right. Well, now that he’s back out of the way again… Freedom, yeh? Ahh.. That’s just a dream, it is.. A fantastic dream. Now you might think that having all of space around you might be the most freeing thing.. An’ well.. I guess it is, yeh.. But.. Uh.. It’s not really ideal, you know? Rather lonely up here.. If you excuse the fellow going on about how great it is up here. Just.. …I guess freedom to me.. Is being carried around by a real mate.. Not hooked to a rail or strapped to the system.. Nah.. It’s being carried to safety by a good friend. Yeh.. That’s freedom, cause that’s.. what I was gonna get if she could have carried me out of there. ..Ah well.. I guess this is still freedom in a sense.. ..At least it’s beautiful up here, yeh.."
