i want a botfly so bad 😩

So, I like insects. I think they're pretty cool. And when I learned you can have human botfly larvae live in you without them causing you any harm (short of burrowing around your body and popping out to become adults), I kind of wanted to try it (as did a bunch of weird entomology-inclined people before me). My mom was in the room when I learned about this and expressed my interest, and that was a few years ago. Today, she sent me this video of someone removing their botfly.... Like, I like insects. Not gore. I guess she didn't realize my "thanks" was sarcastic.... But then she sent me a joke, so it's all okay. Still fuckin' weird, though. Especially being sent from as squeamish a person as her.

Have you ever heard of a Human Botfly? No it's not something out of David Cronenberg's THE FLY -- it's a real insect who's eggs are transported through different ways to humans. The larve hatch beneath the skin. If you want to know what they look like and how to get them out, watch this video. YUCK!
