and as he looked at the elder, a soft smile danced on his lips, eyes curling up. princess seora was a kind, kind lady, and there was often a sense of calmness just being by her side. hui supposed, she was one of the few women that hui could feel completely at ease. ❝ i am all grown up now, ❞ he continued, this time with a little childish brag in his voice, chin tilted upwards in mild determination.
❝ i no longer need to answer to father should i wish to mingle with the crowd. ❞ yet, the male cast a look of uneasy towards the main dining hall, as men raised bowls after bowls of bitter wine. he swallowed, tongue licking the corner of his lips in nervousness to wet his dry lips.
some things, never do change.
“you know it’s too difficult not to tease you.”
there’s a soft smile that dances on seora’s lips as she looks at the male. the two had not known each other for long, perhaps less than a year. but hui had quickly appeared on seora’s radar and made his stake in her life. he seemed to have his head in the clouds at times. but it was definitely fitting for him. in fact, she found it to be quite charming. in fact, there were times when he’d smile at her and it was as if he was the essence of happiness himself.
but she knew better than anyone else that he held his own secrets. but she didn’t mind.
it was rare that seora ever extended the love that she held for her siblings to someone outside of the family. perhaps it was due to the dreamy look that hui had in his eyes at times that reminded her of herself. before she knew the harsh realities of life. and so she wished to protect the younger male in anyway that she could. and to protect her little starry-eyed dreamer, she would do anything.
“well, if you’re all grown up- escort me to the garden, will you? i’m quite tired of hearing the rambles of drunken men.” seora left no room for the male to say no, easily picking up on his nervous habits. even if this was a joyous celebration, the palace was still a place that could easily swallow hui up. and seora refused to let the cruel ways of the palace life drag hui down.
