♤: an uncomfortably long stare ( for aarune! )
Aarune could feel the eyes boring holes into the back of his head and quite frankly, it was rather distracting.
The blond had been out and about on another hunt for new spots, this time scouring through the forests near Mauville City. It was going pretty well in his books, what with the lack of angered wild Pokemon when he came across a black haired teen sitting underneath a huge tree. Aarune was about to pass him when he noticed the way he was looking at his map. He could easily tell that he was lost from the frustration etched across his face and decided that as a good Samaritan, he should help the kid out.
Aarune approached Hugh with an easy air about him and casually asked if he needed any help. The kid was a bit gruff and tense but accepted the offer in the end when he mentioned that he was a native to Hoenn – a small white lie wouldn’t hurt – and knew these parts of the woods like the back of his hand. That was how he found himself leading Hugh towards Mauville City, the closest civilized area. Aarune didn’t talk much, too focused on ensuring their journey would be a safe one.
Besides, he had a feeling that the kid wasn’t the talkative type. He knew how to stare someone down, though. Aarune was trying his best to ignore the feeling of being watched – he had enough from the wildlife, thanks – and felt relieved once the city gates came into view.
“That’s there Mauville City. Well, I gotta run. Places t’ see an’ stuff t’ do. Be more careful when yer out in th’ wilid, ‘kay?” Aarune advised, a good natured grin on his lips. At the soft thank you he received from Hugh, he couldn’t help but smile widely. He wasn’t too bad.
“Well, take care kid!”
