Rachel had been a terrible friend in the month and a half since she'd been back in New York, caught up in the swirl of the city. Though she had gotten coffee with Blaine a few weeks back, she hadn't had a spare moment to reach out to any of her fellow former glee clubbers. She'd gotten a smaller role in an off-Broadway production and had been so wrapped up and caught between rehearsals and work, that it wasn't until her British roommate Oliver kidnapped her to lunch that she finally sat down to take a break. 

The two friends sat across from each other at a too small table on the patio of a little bistro near their apartment, soaking up the gorgeous fall day and gossiping about theater. It was a nice moment, a small break from her usual hectic schedule and just as she was really relaxing into the meal she spotted him. Towering over all the other pedestrians and walking down the street as though he didn't have a care in the world was Finn Hudson.
