Finn and Brittany are both from the bad side of town. Though strangely, they've never run into each other. When they finally meet face to face, they take a great liking to the other that neither has felt. Their friends aren't so sure it'll work out but they both stick to their gut just as they always have.
Decided to write the struggle of twin babies along with Fritters as the parents because perfection. Anyway, I was bored and tired so this is what happened.
The married life was fantastic, it should be for everyone after all. Though today, Finn's wife had left early to handle things at her dance studio and hadn't come back quite yet. It was Sunday and he remembered how their days would go: they'd wake up, lazy as ever, peppering kisses across each other's skin. Now of course with two children, it was harder to be intimate. That's not to say that he didn't regret having kids, absolutely not. Anthony and Ava were blessings. Even when they just planned for one baby, they got two. He couldn't blame anything, he was just that good. It got tiring but admired every second with his family. He yawned as he stretched out on the couch and glanced down as Anthony sat on top of their blanket, chewing on one of the plastic toys he had. Luckily it wasn't anything he could swallow. Finn took notice of the girl missing and furrowed his brow, sitting up to get a better view of the space.Â
"Where's your sister bud?" He asked while standing, looking around. "Crap." He mumbled. His heart already started to panic, assuming he had done terrible in the short amount of time. He, Finn Hudson, a father, was missing a child in his house. He let out a heavy breath and went to the kitchen to find his baby girl trying to open one of the bottom drawers. A huge sigh of relief left his mouth as he picked her up and chuckled to relax himself. "You're just as curious as your mom," He said and placed a light kiss on her cheek, Ava squealing happily as she stuffed her face in the crook of her father's neck. Finn returned to the living room and was just about to set her down when he saw that Anthony was no longer there. "Are you kid..." he trailed off and placed Ava back onto the floor. He looked around and groaned, picking her back up. "Not gonna let you get away either." He told her and went over to the dining room, looking under the table to check if his son was there. "Anthony? Bud, c'mon." He breathed out and didn't know how Brittany could keep track of them when she cooked or cleaned. A squeal came from near the front of the house and he rushed over, finding Anthony trying to reach the door knob. "Your mom will be back soon," He said smiling and picking him up, carrying them both back to the living room. "Alright." He said and pursed his lips when he set them back down. The pillows that laid around the couch gave him an idea.
"All done." He said and had made a fence of pillows where their blanket ended. If one of the children tried to leave, it'd knock down easily but at least he'd be notified of one of them crawling away. He laid back down on the couch and smiled proudly. Soon enough, he saw they wanted his attention. "Alright, c'mon. Let's all watch TV then." He said and picked them both up, each one resting between his side and his arm that cradled them. They babbled back and forth with each other as if they were debating, bringing a wide smile to Finn's face.Â
Time passed, Finn glancing down at Anthony and Ava every once in a while. He checked the time and wondered what was keeping his wife so long. Anthony looked up at his dad tiredly, rubbing his eyes. "Mama," He whined while Finn gently rubbed his small back. "She's not home yet bud." He said softly. It was getting late and he doubt that the twins would be able to hold up any longer. Soon enough, Ava's head rested against his side as her breathing evened out. Though Anthony was pulling through and he kept a tight hold on Finn's shirt. Several minutes passed before Anthony was getting more anxious. "Mama," He whined again as he looked at his dad. "I'm sorry, mama's not home yet. She'd want you to nap though." He mumbled and kept his son close. All of a sudden, Anthony began to cry as he squirmed between Finn's side and arm. "No, no, no," He said as Ava woke up and added on with her tears. He sighed and took them both in each arm, rocking them as he frowned down at them. They were both calling out for their mother through their tears. "Come on Britt." He whispered to himself. The twins' cries calmed down to soft hiccups as he carried both of them around the house. The second he heard the door, Anthony's head lifted as well as Ava's, tired grins spreading across their faces. "Hurry go get ma," He said and set them down. Their moods changed to giddy babies again and crawled to the front door where they met their mother.Â
"Babies!" She said and knelt down to take them in her arms, repeatedly kissing all over their faces. "Aw, my little babies are so so cute. Whatcha guys doing up huh?" She questioned and looked over at Finn, giving a frown. "I'm sorry babe, I really am. I didn't think they were going to keep us there for that long." She stood and leaned up while she pecked his lips. He shook his head to dismiss his apology, yawning while he stretched.
"It's okay B, you made it in time anyway. Anthony started to cry for you." He said smiling and kissed her cheek.Â
"Phew." She said and kissed their kids' foreheads while their heads rested on each shoulder. "You go get in bed and I'll tuck them in okay?" She said and Finn nodded. "Thank you so much." He said, making her giggle softly. He turned on his heel and flopped down in bed, stomach first. The comfort of the bed only making him more sleepy. He had no idea how much time it took him to fall asleep or when he did, but it was almost instant.
