Eddie woke up the next morning on Max's dorm room floor; most of the party guests had left.
Relieved that he hadn't driven home last night, he looked around the room before spotting a still-sleeping Jonathan with his head on Eddie's lap. "Cute," he whispered, petting Jonathan's hair and smiling as the man slowly began to wake up.
"What time is it?" Jonathan sleepily mumbled.
"No idea, but you're probably extremely late for whatever you had planned."
"That's fine," Jonathan replied as he sat up and stretched his arms. "I can reschedule."
"In that case, do you want to sneak out and go get coffee before Max asks a bunch of questions?"
"Great idea." Jonathan glanced down at Eddie's still bare chest under his jacket. "Should we find your shirt?"
"Yeah, it's in the car." Standing up from the floor, Eddie offered his hand to Jonathan, helping the man stand up before kissing him.
Jonathan smiled. "What was that for?"
"You looked really cute when you were sleepin'."

Once Eddie was decent—having retrieved his shirt from Robin's car—he and Jonathan walked to a nearby cafe only to be met with the sight of Dustin and Jane sitting at a table.
"Over here!" Jane waved excitedly. "We're wedding planning."
"Oh god, not again." Eddie groaned; he had already been roped into being part of her and Dustin's wedding party—which he's happy to be part of—but he might actually go crazy if he had to listen to another list of flowers.
"How about we get you that coffee before going over to the table?" Jonathan asked.
Eddie nods his head. "Yes, please." He followed Jonathan to the counter; he wasn't sure how to act with Jonathan in public due to having only met him less than twenty-four hours ago.
The last time he had a random hook-up, the guy was gone by morning, but Jonathan is ordering him coffee and somehow getting his order correct.
"You're staring, Eddie."
"Sorry, I'm just tryin' to figure you out."
Jonathan chuckled. "You could just ask questions."
"Okay," Eddie thought for a moment, deciding it was better to ask honest questions instead of small talk. "Why didn't you run away when I started complainin' about another guy?"
Jonathan turned around to face Eddie, leaning back against the counter. "Why would I?"
"Most men would; a guy complainin' about his unrequited love is normally a turn-off."
Jonathan shrugged, reaching for Eddie's belt loop and pulling him closer. "Most, but I'm not most."
Eddie grinned, gently holding Jonathan's chin and tilting his head up. "That's a bit cocky, don't you think?"
"Absolutely, but I have a feeling that's not a problem for you."
Eddie glanced down at Jonathan's lips and back.
"You're allowed to kiss me in public," Jonathan reassured. "If that's what you're worrying about."
Eddie rolled his eyes jokingly. "I wasn't worryin'."
"Oh really? So why are you staring at my lips and not kissing me?"
"Tryin' to be a gentleman," Eddie replied. "Forgot to be one last night."
Jonathan shrugged. "I don't need you to be a gentleman; if I have complaints, I'll let you know."
