So last week I found out i had gotten hsv1. The guy i was currently seeing totally up and left me. He said “I love you but I can’t risk getting it. I can’t make this work even though i have a lot of love for you.” At this point, I’m balling everywhere and feel like absolute garbage. I tell him that it isnt as bad as he thinks and there are ways to prevent him from getting infected. (Mind you I’m 90% sure I caught it from him even though he said he is clean.) So heartbroken me goes back on Tinder. I start talking to this guy and he seems pretty cool. And i start thinking oh my god here we go I’m going to have to tell him. And i did. And he was TOTALLY ACCEPTING OF IT!!! Like it made my day and for a second, I didn’t feel like a piece of garbage.
Okay trying not to cry but I believe I'm starting my 4th outburst since my diagnosis and it's so hard
Taking an appointment to the gyn to see if I can have suppressive meds that I will take on a long time because it's starting to ruin my life I'm trying to remain positive but it's hard
Day 3 since my diagnosis
Went to the gyn, had my medicine to treat my first OB (valaciclovir) and told the man whom I had unprotected sex with 5 days before I had my first symptoms.
He took I well, wasn't angry and was worried about me. He's getting tested on Friday. We'll see...
Little by little I'm accepting that HSV2 is for life now and I want to find a silly and ugly name for it 🤣
Today is my first day of suppressive medication 💪

Not even 3 days of meds and I already feel better !! Blisters have significantly reduced and it's really getting better, same with my mood... 🤗
Today I learnt that I contracted HSV 2. I. Have. Genital.Herpes.
I am currently going through a lot of feelings, and also going through my first outbreak. It is painful. Physically and mentally. I am trying to tell myself that I am not dirty that it is not my fault. That I must not be ashamed of who I am right now. The virus doesn't define me. It doesn't define who I am.
I have type 2 herpes.
So I have genital herpes and I get sores in the opening of my urethra, which actually is the most pain I've ever been in in my life.
Second only, that is, to the sheer volume of cringe when my PCP finished the pelvic exam, told me it looks like herpes, then put a hand on my shoulder, and said "I am so, so sorry" before walking out with a sigh while I was still spread eagle on the exam table. Like wtf kinda Grey's Anatomy shit was that.
