Homestuck: Beyond Canon Upd8 for October 8, 2025 - November 21, 2025 Part 1
Man did I fall behind in this! Between Path of Exile, Deltarune thoughts, Desert Bus, and my lousy health I've missed probably two full months of Upd8's! Unforgivable!
Because I'm so behind, I'm gonna blog until my head/body declares enough, or I reach Tumblr's image limit. Then I might try and continue tomorrow. I have a doctor's appointment though, so that's gonna be a bit up in the air. Wednesday might be clear though.
Without further ado, the news!
Miles is posting today, and hints at more to come. He lets us know the Rosemary plushes are ready (I actually ordered them before seeing this). I especially like how Rose looks.
OOPS! Gonna skim a bit here, as Miles is talking about recent upd8s.
I had not noticed any Hiveswap news . . . but then I've been avoiding Tumblr during all of this. Only barely remembered to blog about Desert Bus before the drive ended >.> But it looks like we have some teasers coming. Gives me an excuse to finally finish my playthroughs XD
Miles seems to be like me when it comes to Thanksgiving, though for a different reason. I adore Halloween and Christmas, but I like having the month to breathe between them. November is still fine for Christmas shopping though. But mark my words, come the first I don my Santa hat and ugly sweater and am in full Holiday mode!
Miles wants to get their #GratinGang going. Sorry bro, but I can't help you there. Not because I'm against a good gratin, but I keep interactions with The Hell Site to a minimum.
In a very Exile/Calliope moment, we see someone watching events unfold through a series of monitors with a keyboard prompt. "Ah, shucks… Then who the heck can I be?" indeed!
We've got Ly'lac's predicament on one monitor, our character teaser on another, and both are locked. We've got AA and CC's symbols on the bottom right. I'm guessing that green symbol is CT's, and the flickering one might be AT's? Sorry, but too tired to get the dropper tool to get hex colors. Should have done that when I started my notes, come to think about it . . .
I think these monitors confirm we'll have 10 players though. Pretty sure that isn't a misdirect. If I'm wrong there, it will be from major shenanigans. We've got one monitor each for what I'm guessing might be team leaders, Ly'lac for the Nymphs and probably TT for the Satyrs. Then we have their four friends in the bottom right. The upper left, I'm betting, are our 4 Earth C players. I'm probably way too confident about this, but I'm gonna just accept going down with this ship if I'm wrong.
Who is our mysterious voyeur? Not a clue! That skin color looks like human white though. But this could easily be a misdirection.
For now, looks like we're gonna be AT. I've had this art spoiled, but I don't know that for sure. Just guessing based on colors.
Okay, Ly'lac was extremely Rose coded. So much so I was certain they were Dirk's fault. This character is only Dirk coded through the horse/pony themes. This otherwise feels like a less, "too cool for this" Dave. This makes me think that Rose is definitely the one responsible for the Satyrs. Basing the Satyr's off of Dave feels like just the kind of passive aggressive thing she'd do.
Don't jump scare me like that, dammit!
Anyway, hello Swiss Elysi! Pleased to finally make your acquaintance! Also nice to know I can still occasionally be sharp enough to catch things and be right about them. They are, indeed Satyrs!
Looks like Swiss is also on the verge of some important coming of age event. Apparently when Satyr's grow up, they get their MANTHRONYM. The Manthro-thing feels like more of a Jade reference. I'm wondering if Rose was feeling a bit nostalgic when working on her species.
In addition to claiming to be "a shining scion of a PROUD WARRIOR RACE," Swiss's full legal name includes "WARD OF THE EIGHTH REGION," implying that they might be a person of import, similar to Feferi. Or Satyrs might just all have proud titles for proud warriors.
Swiss is too busy referencing another Greek character to turn around, it seems. The Satyr busts don't stop being humorously unsettling. That's a nice collection of swords though, and . . .
Is . . . is that Dirk's actual sword? Could just be a replica. The people of Deltritus seem to be aware of their gods. So if you collected swords, you might want to collect a copy of the sword wielded by a god.
The other things I'm noticing for now are that the engine block feels strangely out of place, and I would never be able to sleep in that bed.
There's interesting art being referenced too. The only one I can place without doing some googling is the obvious Vitruvian Man, which depicts that Satyrs might grow up to be pony princesses. It may just mean that some Satyrs are pegasi and some are unicorns. There may be earth ponies and alicorns too.
Apparently Swiss isn't being Narcissistic, but is practicing their WINNING SMILE.
Oh! My apologies, Swiss! How presumptuous of me. You are of course not a unicorn, but a MONOCORN. Satyrs are apparently TRIMORPHIC, so they're hinting at three types just like in MLP. I'm gonna place my bet here though - we see a Satyr God Tier, they're going to morph into an alicorn.
Swiss's introduction is using masculine language, so I'm wondering if my guess about two non-binary species will be correct. We've still got one more player to confirm a species and gender and TC had a they associated with them. I just feel like I see a theme developing.
For that matter, both of our human kids are male, and both of our non-human/hybrid kids are female.

Swiss is complaining about being ignored, but it seems to be just the opposite. To be fair, Ly'lac didn't seem particularly interested in talking with anyone.
There's a reference to fate. It seems that both species have at least some interest in fortune and prophecy. And, well, we are talking about a story where characters are trapped in stable time loops . . .
Ah yes . . . a wall scroll. That looks more like a poster, but you do you.
And again, my mistake. This is of course the SATRUVIAN ALKYRIN. I'd never have guessed Alkyrin, but I'm honestly embarrassed I didn't think of Satruvian. It was honestly right there!
So we have ALKRYINS (which I'm guessing are mythical and, again, I'm betting Satyr God Tiers), MONOCORNS, PEGATULPS, and, of course, majestic STALLIONS.
Okay . . . one of those hormones is a real thing. CHILLATONIN is pretty self explanatory. ABHORTISOL I'm guessing is part of their stress response.
Horses are mythical creatures on Deltritus! I love it!
Oh! It's Steve-O! That's a blast from the past! Apparently Satyr Steve-O was a politician on Deltritus. Good on you, Satyr Steve-O! So maybe that's Johnny and Bam downstairs.
Look at how happy Swiss is! To be fair, if I had a tail it would probably wag every time I held an awesome sword.
And yep, this is a replica of Dirk's sword. Given the potential for alchemy, it could still have all the properties of the real thing. But that would require getting your hands on one of Scratch's Cue Balls, if I remember correctly.
Knowing the reference doesn't make these less uncomfortable. Oh look! Tri-D chess!
Swiss also appears to be in some sort of high school fraternity. It's all very Greek.
Whoah! Hay! What's going on to the right there? Do we already have mystery that needs solving? Has Swiss perhaps stumbled onto the meteor seedings that lead to SHURB's creation?
Great! Now I wish I'd noted down if they'd mentioned who got the game up and running. I think that was TC? Let's see where this goes.
"Satyrical society." Should have seen that one coming too. Perhaps everything about this species is ironic. Again, I'm certain this is Rose's doing.

So Dirk may be THE EXEMPLAR. And apparently, he, or someone who has assumed his mantle, is active in Satyr society.
We also have Honey Games, so apparently Satyrs are either literal or metaphorical bee keepers. Swiss hasn't read this book and doesn't think much of the spirit in which it was given. I wonder if we're going to see something between the loving jabs of the human session and the blatant hostility of the Trolls.
Got a mix of art styles here, including either some Ukiyo-e or Musha-e. Fitting for Dirk's love of anime that their culture's classical art would include Edo era art in it's past. Bit of bigotry here though! Apparently not all is well between Nymphs and Satyrs. And the Satyrs did some awful things until Dirk apparently decided enough was enough.
Yeah, we're just gonna leave this here.

Apparently Swiss doesn't know that his civilization is likely about to end. He's still aiming at ruling it someday. This might still happen, but hopefully by then he'll learn that this isn't necessarily a good thing.

Back to more serious matters, Satyrs have a tiered society. Swiss previously claimed their society was meritocratic, but this is ringing more as commentary on most historical democracies, including those existing today. In order to accomplish his dreams, Swiss obviously wants to join a Honey Fraternity. This talk of the Barley Fraternity is interesting though. Wonder if that's going to be this sessions equivalent of a dancestor. Could also be misdirection.
And yes, of course a society based off of Dirk would have some version of rap. In this case, it's Slam Poetry like on Alternia. Again, this strikes me as potentially Rose either being nostalgic or passive aggressive . . . or both.
"How to Fake Friends and Influence Sheeple" sounds like the kind of corny ironic take on "alpha male" literature Dirk might write, only for it to immediately be taken at face value. It would not surprise me if that's what actually happened.
Whoah! Okay! There's some imagery to dissect that is probably not worth dissecting. Like, yikes! Let's just move on to the text because my eyes hurt just looking at that.
This also might be referring to a dancestor situation. It'd be interesting to guess who's dancestors might have nearly caused an extinction level event once we get to know everyone more. Whoever was responsible, Deltritus was obviously not a particularly nice place to live for most of its history.
While Swiss seems to barely tolerate Nymphs, if at all, apparently one of our Satyrs is pretty cool with them. Again, I'm guessing TC. Swiss apparently isn't fond of this but prefers it to other things they've been up to.
I'm not getting the reference for Whestones Weakly, sadly. And I'm not having any luck searching for what it's based on. Guess I'll just miss the joke until someone else figures it out.

Also Swiss used him for TC, while Ly'lac used they. This could be misunderstanding. But, unfortunately, Swiss does strike me as someone that would use the pronoun they prefer.

Something is causing people, or at least the Satyrs, to fall asleep suddenly. This isn't a normal Sburb phenomenon, though it is something we've seen happen in Homestuck before. Just not on this scale. Is Vriska getting some practice in before she makes planetfall?
Swiss's rant here gets just a bit worrying, but he seems to have at least some self awareness about it. There's a part of him that knows he's taking things too far, trying to exert to much control. Hopefully that part will win out.

I think part of why I'm liking Swiss is I'm getting some Karkat vibes from him. The feeling I'm getting is that he's all wound around all of this BS because he thinks he has to be. And he'll need to learn to let these things go, that he doesn't have to be perfect and in control all the time. Or maybe that's just the direction I hope they're going.
And I can't help but get Equius vibes from The Mountain. I mean it's all right there! Hopefully without the classist BS and the getting off on being ordered around by his "lessers."
I spoke too soon. Though this time, it seems like our STRONGEST teammate might be being actually literally groomed.
God I hate that I have to make that clarification.
Let's hope this all really is just RP. Either that or we have another timescale we're dealing with. Considering that we're standing at 4 Satyrs to 2 Nymphs, and CC's preview was in sihouette, I'm wondering if some misdirection is going on.
Maybe we're just subverting the expectation though that this group of players will be equally distributed like we've seen so far.
I am wondering if Swiss is just making assumptions. But we do know there is at least some mixed ages in this group. AA is older than Ly'lac is. Perhaps this group won't be as balanced as we've previously seen. It's also possible not everyone will make it into the game.
That would be huge difference if that's what's intended! But this session already feels like nothing we've seen before.

Bees really are very cute! I used to try and pet them as a kid. It's frustrating they're so rare now. But I would totally consider a career in apiculture.
Alright! That's gotten us through October and feels like a good stopping point.
This . . . this has definitely gotten interesting. While the comic is appealing to classic Homestuck everywhere, I have a feeling we're about to get nothing of the sort.
In addition to 2 humans, a dog girl, and a Troll that Vriska is trying to shoehorn into the session, we have what appears to be 4 Satyrs, 3 male one possibly NB, and 2 nymphs. Swiss believes one of said Satyrs is older than the other. And AA is apparently older than Ly'lac by several syzygic recitals. But we have no idea how old that makes her. If AA is only 16, that would still put her in expected range.
Additionally, I had assumed CC was a Satyr. But Ly'lac did mention a UNI-NYMPH, implying a nymph can have features similar to a Satyr. So it's possible that CC just has a mantle that looks like it has ears (like a dumbo octopus), or is cosplaying as a Satyr for RP purposes.
But I actually think it would be more interesting if things weren't balanced, if we had an older nymph and a younger nymph, four satyrs of different morphotypes and ages, all combined with our crazy group of kids from Earth C. If that were the case, then it would be a clear signal not to expect the usual from this game session.
And that will make this adventure all the more exciting.
