Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well. What a crazy, crazy, wild fire of a year! Before we get started, I want to thank fangqueen for running the @hp-creatures Fest last year for me (dig) and making it a success!
To ease things for everyone this year, I want to run the fest, but not sure if I have the emotional and physical capacity of doing a traditional HP FANDOM fest. So things are changing just a bit for 2020 (as things are changing every day for us —)
The 2020 Creature Fest is Quarantine Creature Comeback. It's just a fancy way of saying, we're doing a chill fest using old, unused prompts.
The 2020 fest will be non-anonymous, and members can create fic or art using old prompts. I took over for the creaturefest in 2014 so we'll be using unclaimed prompts from 2014-2019. Over the next few days, I'll be posting links and more info on the fest. But here are dates for you to know/remember/mark. And feel free to ask questions.
Sign Up / Claiming: August 1, 2020
Submissions due: October 1, 2020
Posting: Oct 15-31, 2020
Final Masterlist: November 1, 2020
The minimum length for fic is 500, and there's no maximum. Art can be any medium/form/style. All the prompts will be available for viewing and more than one person can claim the same prompt. If you like a prompt but want to change the pairing, you are free to do so. You just have to let the moderator (me) know. If you want to participate in the fest, but have your own/idea prompt, you can let us know during the sign up process.
All members will be expected to post on the ao3 collection themselves, and the moderator will reveal the works during the two weeks of posting. If you do not know how to post to a collection on ao3, or do not have an ao3 account, no problem! Just contact the moderator, and they will help you out.
All submissions will need to be creature-centric. That means a creature is involved somehow or a character is a creature. If you have questions, you can always run your idea by the moderator.
More to come. For questions, email at: [email protected].
Be well,
