How I Plan my Presentations in 4 Easy Steps:
1. Prioritize - First I decide what sections I want to cover in my presentation. These should be specific enough that you will not be driven off topic when researching or presenting. 2. Research - Second, I gather all of my sources on my desk (all hard and electronic copies). I don’t read these articles in depth before compiling them, I choose the ones that look like they will be the most useful/interesting. 3. Notes - Then I make my way through each section I have selected, taking important information from all of my sources and combining them into one big messy outline. Make sure to use your own words and include ALL info that might be relevant. 4. Condense - Finally, I take that outline and whittle it down into a comprehensive, organized set of notes that I will use to make my poster/slideshow/presentation notes!
When actually presenting I use my presentation mode (either a poster, slideshow, or activity) as my main source of information, and then keep a small set of notes on flashcards to ensure I don’t forget any key features.
Make sure to use pictures, diagrams, and interactive activities whenever you can to keep it fun and make it memorable :)
Presentation complete, BOOM!
