Life can get unnecessarily complicated can’t it, there can be occasions when you need to rewrite history a little, tell a white lie, where you don’t have quite the right type of truth to get you through an awkward situation or that inconvenient slip of the tongue… (an instant most likely born out of the absence of presence, and a subsequent absence of a bit of compassion or kindness). Who knows! It will all be ok. But I’ve learned to take care through long periods of meditation to get more in to the present, through coming away from reacting, avoiding fear, avoiding attachment. Lies have an ability to compound, they can become gossip, and gossip can manifest, and before you know it you have a web of lies, a viscous wheel of confusion where friends cannot even begin to communicate with each other.

It gets uncomfortable when life’s not as you want it. You said something you didn’t mean to, you lost the balance of your mind, and started reacting with fear and working out ways of manipulating an exit. Another little lie won’t hurt.
