Just learned about the death of Howie Pyro from D Generation and a gaggle of other awesome early punk bands. Probably (unfortunately) best known for allegedly being the last person to see Sid Vicious alive, he was also a massive horror fan who amassed an incredible collection of cult memorabilia. RIP.

Howie Pyro (The Blessed, D Generation) in sunglasses and friends tricking gullible kids into believing they would be getting “The punk haircut” on the way to CBGB’s in the late-’70s:
“...That was in the door way of a homeless bum hotel called the palace hotel on the Bowery just next door to CBGB...we would convince long haired kids that it was the thing to do, to let us burn their hair off. And it was.
It was actually a haircutting method our friend Champ used at a punk shop called Revenge (the roughest & realest early New York punk store) called the Singe cut.
