Pega pone/emu @howemuginative had a birthday this week. Happy birthday friend!
Sorry, your blog is only feebas now. Nothing we can do
@ladyallo @howemuginative @emptywordsforglory
Everyone, follow their lead, accept in-progress Feebas into your heart!
howemuginative replied to your photo “Been paintin over a photo lately. S’good color practice and very...”
My eyes know it’s a painting but are reacting like its a photo and it’s confusing me
In short, I cheated and cheated HARD. Much of the original picture IS still unpainted aside from the face and hair which adds a bit of texture, all of my colors were sampled directly from the picture but just enhanced where I wanted them so nothing seems chromatically impossible or out of place, and of coarse I was painting over the original so I was free to directly keep what I wanted ie the structure while changing some of the details to look more stylistic.
Honestly??? I just did it because I have a suspicion some people I follow have done similar for celebrity portraits that looked more advanced then their skill level normally comes off and wanted to see if it was easy. And it was. Like soooo easy, but it was also a learning experience on how some colors work on skin and the like. Hmm.
So. Here we are. Is it a skill crutch or an art study? I’d like to think the later, but I’m trying to be transparent just in case. Also here, have a trippy morph gif from the original picture that looks cool but also makes me look kinda gross compared to the fancy picture person with no pores.
THE ART IS A LIE

This looks amazing. Is that acrylic pour?
A bit! Instead of using the cup, I poured on the paint into one giant layered blob, then tilted the canvas all around. The Game Grumps video inspired me to do it :D
ALSO- HACK
You don’t need those expensive paint liquefiers, just use super cheap kids paint, it’s so watery that it moves just fine! Each of the colours I got was a quid a bottle and you get over 500ml, it’s splendid for these kinds of paintings!

@askthenightguards @howemuginative now that I’m home I can thank you both properly lol, thank you for the birthday wishes!
howemuginative replied to your post: I don’t know if I’m at my breaking point yet but...
You do lyft/uber/taxi?
I do. I make enough where I live that it’s a viable full time job, and it helped me get through the summer.
There’s also a couple arrangements I have with people where they just call me when they need a ride and they’ll pay me cash. One is a guy from my hometown who needs rides to work and home. The other is aforementioned stripper.
While she pays well, it’s very random times when she needs to go in and then she’ll take somewhere between 30-60 minutes after I arrive to get ready to go home. She also last night was tipsy, yelled at me for apparently not knowing enough about my friend who does the same thing, and then vented for a solid hour and a half about her sister, when all I wanted to do was go home and sleep because it was 6:30 in the morning at that point.
And all I wanted to do today was get caught up on commissions. That’s it. But I slept in until 1:00, did a couple other regrettable things today, and it feels like this is the wakeup call to do a major change in my life.
I’m just not in a happy place right now. That’s all.
howemuginative replied to your post: I have a decent dresser again and can finally put...
So many plushies! I’m hoping for a computer desk one day that I can display my plastic brushables on
Same. I got one in storage I need to get out. Other than that, cheap shelving will work.
