House of the dragon is so funny because normally if there's a big gay ship full of subtext in a show the fans will go crazy making everything about the ship and twisting the narrative to fit it while the showrunners don't actually care and try to steer the characters away from it to avoid queerbaiting accusations. Meanwhile in hotd everyone from the writers to the actors to the directors is fully yuri pilled like Rhaenyra and Alicents dynamic is the heart of the show and the narrative doesn't work without acknowledging it. And a large portion of the fans are still stubbornly trying to ignore it two seasons in and twist the characters actions in another direction even if it makes no sense. It's so funny the showrunners went sorry no you're not getting a two dimensional Cersei rip off you're getting childhood friends to enemies who long to be lovers. And the concept just would not compute in the fans brains unless they cared about female characters and the dynamic between them, which we already know the majority of most fans do not.

Hello lovely people. I've made the decision to start using this account again in a more productive way than I was for the last few months. After HOTD s2 came out entirely, I was kinda deterred, but I kept trying my best to keep up with my ideas about one of my favourite characters (Nettles). While it's kinda clear that she won't be adapted into that show now and I don't like the decisions they've made not only in that regard but as a show with a clear story direction, the only decision I can come too is not being as invested in the hotd fandom as much while retaining my love for asoiaf. My love for women who haunt the narrative and affect the main plot and dip (Ashara and Elia were my first loves, I'm not new to racism) will never leave and as long as I have this account I will continue to attach myself in healthy and reasonable ways to these characters. I probably won't be as locked into show content as I was before between S1 and S2, but I still like the show, the actors, and some plots, and I hope they evolve better than they did this season. I don't think they were snubbed for emmys if you go back and watch the season's narrative pay off, you'll understand that and I hope they get better with time and WRITERS IN SET THIS SEASON. All in all, I'll be here for a while, I've been here since I was like 14 and I'll be 21 this year, so I think it's fair to say I'm in it for the long haul. With my writing, I will be posting more stories and finishing the ones I have soon. I don't like leaving them incomplete, and I don't think that's fair. House of the dragon s2 best TV on at the moment purely because they treat their subtextual yuri like most shows treat their flagship straights and they treat their flagship m/f ship like the queerbait ship you need to throw a bone to every few episodes in order to shut fans up. Groundbreaking prestige TV actually they said yeah yeah here's your dark romance now here's 8 episodes of the male lead realising he's an evil pedophile and 8 episodes of star crossed girl kissed lovers.
