WHY A COFFEE SHOP IN A CHURCH?
The Host Cafe is an independent cafe by the Moot community to open up the church, to the public and make use of the space.
Saint Mary Aldermary is a Guild church in the heart of London. The building is one of the oldest churches in the city dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It was seriously affected by the Great Fire of London in 1668 and was rebuilt in the late seventeenth century, during the Gothic of English architecture period. The legacy of Christopher Wren remains in the fan-vaulted ceilings and intricate detailing. There are also depictions of relevant christian figures and events in the glass works.
Moot felt that Host is great space to connect, to feed body, mind, and spirit.
