I wonder who commissionned this obi and why (patterned mourning/ half-mourning obi are not like this usually?).

Yokai Inktober #16: Hossu
Oogh, my head hurts. I’ll just draw an extra from Hundred Demon Night Parade picture scrolls. It’s a monk’s fly swatter Tsukumogami, or living objects. It’s a rod with a bunch of hair that monks use to shoo away flies harmlessly in accordace to their belief that they shall do no harm to any living being. Man, if I were a monk, I’ll never leave my duty to guard food offerings. Watching this impish guy shaking its head violently, jumping erratically and spazzing out around the offerings will keep me awake, that is until the hungry ghosts(gaki/preta) arrive. O__O
