I was not expecting to love Hosonaga so much. He's such a bro! Man did everything he could to help out Ryunosuke even if it meant getting beat black n blue. The time Hosonaga spent getting absolutely pummeled ensured that Ryunosuke had at least some chances to investigate after being accused for murder for the second time in a row. Despite Hosonaga failing to protect Kazuma, he never let his guilt get in the way of helping out the lad who needed him most in that moment of turmoil. And him possibly having tuberculosis on top of all that?! Dude is at the top of his game at all times and nothing can stop him.

...Also I think I kinda started shipping Hosonaga and Sholmes in the back of my head. They're the kind of duo to finish each other's sentences, ya catch my drift? Them assessing Ryunosuke's potential of becoming a lawyer in Kazuma's stead just looked like two parents emotionally conflicted about sending their kid off to college to me.
