if buck and tommy were horses what kind of horses do you think they’d be
great, anonymous, I’m glad you asked. I think Tommy would be a Percheron, a draft horse bred for intelligence and work ethic and also meat. They are very big gentle giants. I love them.
Buck would be a standardbred, a long-legged harness racer known for speed at a trot/pace, powerful shoulders, and (anecdotally to me) friendliness. I’ve never met a standardbred I didn’t like. Look at these guys:

Comparing two taxidermy Przewalski horses, one museum quality and a commercially made one that is uh.. not to be rude, not so much museum quality, but still cute in its own way
The one that was commercially made looks very scruffy. Part of that is the longer fur but it's also because of the lack of details. If the mount doesn't have the natural shapes and curves the animal's body should have, the hairs on the pelt will stick out in weird places, making it look sort of moth-eaten and patchy.
It is kind of sad to see such a rare animal being mounted with no attention to the details. Even though the commercial mount is kinda messy and anatomically incorrect (and extremely expensive 🥲), if I could afford it I would've bought him in a heartbeat
