Very polite of monsters, ghosts, demons etc in horror movies to have a sense of pacing with their torment that could be stretched out to at least an hour and thirty minutes. None of this "throw everything at the fan on frame one" nonsense. They know how to do their haunting game with a respect for the art of storytelling and that's just kinda beautiful I'm ngl
You know it bothers me when people are like "the horror genre is bad because it's always racist, misogynist and ableist" and it's not because that's wrong. It's because if you look closer actually everything is because our entire culture is built off racism, misogyny and ableism on a foundational level. You're allowed to have a preference for cozy fantasy and superheroes but not because stories where no one gets hurt are free of the burden of ethics. Do not make it about how horror art, especially and exclusively, is tainted by a history of bigoted tropes. Just say you're too chicken. No one will judge you
Another really good shitty horror remake is 13 Ghosts with Matthew Lillard.
The 1960 film is significantly more wholesome and also because its from the 60s, it's goofy as hell.
The remake from 2001 is basically an entirely different movie, with the title being the only real similarity.
If you guys can’t tell…I’ve been rewatching a lot of Dexter
The cinematography being so beautiful, and their attention to detail when it comes to colors and framing in shots—always a 10/10 for me visually
OG Dexter, New Blood, and Resurrection all have some amazing visuals. I probably won’t watch Original Sin (no hate if you do, just doesn’t seem like it’s for me) so I can’t speak for it, but my goodness. Even if you have some issues with the creative direction they’ve taken with the plot line—nobody can ever say this shit isn’t stunning to look at

Alright, I have a question for all of you since it's Halloween season
What are some types of horror that actually scare you the most?
What is a trope in horror you wish was used more?
Mentally ill people as heroes.
normies want us to be the baddies but let's be real right? haha.
