1. How does your character think of their father? What do they hate and love about him? What influence - literal or imagined - did the father have?
May has always been a sort of daddy's girl. She always seen him as a pillar in her life; a constant. While her mom was a little less than reliable, her dad was there for her whenever she needed him. Even when he was busy working, she could go to his gym and hang out there until he was done. She really does love him unconditionally, and there's nothing that could change that.
She loves that he's willing to be there for her; but she hated that he would work so much. It actually really bugged her when she and her mother would sit down for dinner and her dad would still be at the gym.
It was because of him that she even started her journey to become a Pokemon trainer. She wanted to be as strong as he was, both physically with her pokemon, and mentally. As much as she wishes she were like him, May is not. She took after her mother in many aspects. It kind of bums her out that she is so much like her mom.
