"Oof!" With a final push, Deet slipped through the tiny crack in the workshop window, nearly tumbling off the sill but catching himself at the last minute. The little fey sighed in relief, sitting up to brush off his dandelion leaf shaped wings before grinning widely. Step one, done. Now, for a little bit of borrowing. Using the light of his glowing form to guide him, Deet flitted over to the workbench he'd spied from outside, marveling at the sheer array of gears and wires. It was every tinker's dream... He lifted up his goggles to inspect a tiny cog, his bright blond hair standing up in every direction. High quality too. Oh, he'd certainly be coming back here! Careful to be completely silent, Deet grabbed a spool of silver wire, a couple nuts and bolts, and gears aplenty, leaving them on the sill before going back for more. It was around the fifth trip that things started to go south. As Deet picked up a second cool of wire, he felt a blast of hot air on his back, nearly knocking him over. He froze, slowly turned, and came face to face with a pair of glowing eyes, set deep in the face of a clockwork...crocodile. "Ohhhhhhh no. Um....n-nice croc. Pleasedonteatme." He only had a second before the thing lunged, barely managing to fly out of the way of its jaws in time. Almost as soon as he dodged that one, he flew into between the eyes of another, letting out a high pitched squeal. The crocs thumped and clanked around the lab, making a racket. Just as Deet flew to the rafters, the door to the shop flew open, with a large silhouette arcing into the workshop. Oh no....he'd woken the human. gears-that-breathe
