Before
Marcus Vansten has always been ambitious. It's his nature, coming from old money and strong constitutions. He firmly adheres himself to the Vansten family motto, Cedo nulli, or "I yield to no one", and although in his own nonconventional way, follows his father's words to the very letter.
With this ambition comes greed. A power-hungry malice that boils under the skin and exudes itself through any outlet it can, in this case being Marcus's longing for recognition in all accounts. Throughout the years, he built an empire, made billions more, and cemented himself in the hollow role of "model citizen".
Notoriety did not last for long. Called upon by angels, Marcus was ripped from his fantastical life of achievement and splendour and into the void-soaked realm of the non-existent. No longer able to be seen or recognized, Marcus reeled both physically and mentally, and eventually he simply snapped.
Marcus does not hold and keep friendships or relationships in general well. His controlling personality and ever present need to be noticed and adored result in toxic relationships, and only allow him to keep people forcibly. Jake is a good example of this, as Marcus guilts him into staying in the mansion (resulting in severe Stockholm Syndrome).
His sole goal now is to seek revenge on the Erikas that made him into what he is, an abomination, a monster. He does not have any intention of stopping until he either wipes them out or they wipe him out instead.
Abilities
Since he came into this current state, Marcus has honed his skills in every way that he could. There are quite a few abilities that Erikas share, some of which are unique to each Erika themselves.
Shared abilities include flight, the use of teleportation or "phasing" to quickly travel from one location to another, and a hivemind capability that enables them to telepathically communicate with others of their kind.
Marcus does have these aspects as well as his own arsenal of skills at his disposal.
Voidspeak- Marcus is able to alter his voice to resonate with the void itself. Prolonged exposure to this voice causes significant pain.
Holy fire- Conjuring dark flames from his palms, these are able to burn someone alive if he is upset enough.
Kiss of Death- In the event that Marcus is completely swallowed by his emotions, he has the ability to remove someone's life force via kiss. This may take days or years off their life, depending on the ferocity. Such a charmer.
Appearance
Marcus has not completely abandoned his human form, but he is hardly stable in keeping it, resulting in a rather monstrous appearance. Talons, fangs, black-soaked golden wings, and black scleras in his eyes are the main facets in his looks, and he doesn't care to change them.
However, when Marcus is under the correct circumstances, his eyes do fade back to a normal human's. There may still be a touch of compassion, of human, in him yet.
Now
It has been a while since Marcus was first changed, and the Erikas have noticed how he acts far differently than the others. His rage and his thirst for vengeance are not normally applicable to angelic beings, and thus have caused a fair bit of concern within their populace.
They have captured him a few times to see if they can understand him, going so far as to work with the SSP to try and quell him. Because of their experimentation, Marcus has come to distrust them even more, and it has done nothing to repair his shattered sense of morality. As of now, he remains hostile to them, trying to force both their hivemind from his head and destroy their inherent presence in his life for good.
