1. What was the first fandom and/or pairing that you wrote fic for?

i mean, teeeeeechnically speaking, it was pokemon and aaml (before it was known as pokeshipping). in the fifth grade, i wrote a self-insert fic in which i accompanied ash, misty, and brock through johto and tried to get ash and misty together. xD i didn’t really know what fanfic was at that age, though. if we’re talking the first fandom i wrote for consciously knowing it was fanfiction? it was yugioh, though i never published anything for the fandom until verrrrrry recently.

3. Do you write fics from start to finish, or jump around?

i’m very much a chronological writer, i have to write everything in order. but i also have realized that sometimes this method really hinders me, especially if i get stuck at one part and can’t move past it. but co-writing with kat @hobbitunderthemountain over the last...almost year (?!?!?) has really helped me kind of break away from that and be able to jump around to different parts of a story.

As much as I enjoy the Shire in all it’s post-apocalypse beauty, I’d probably choose Erebor. It’s my kind of badass.

35. Why do you think you were so drawn to the franchise?

When I watched a LoTR movie for the first time ever I was 12, we were poor as fuck, and I got it as a birthday present. I had 0 fucking clue what it was about, I didn’t grow up as an avid reader (I couldn’t keep focused) so I never read and Tolkein stuff, but I knew I liked fantasy and I liked the action. And I just remember watching Fellowship of the Ring on VHS for that very first time, all 2 fucking hours of it and just being in complete awe of the world and the characters ( I was so in love with Elves and Aragorn LMFAO).

I’m still drawn to it, as an adult, because it has so much more nuance to me now than it did back in 2002. It has a lot more meaning to me now that I have a toe dipped in the fandom. Fan analysis and HCs have just made the franchise so much more vibrant to me.
