Rough bit from chapter 3 of my WIP, The Ghosts of Sherwood:

At the top he found another guard disposed of, and the man in green standing with an arrow nocked in the string of his curved bow. His hood had fallen back, revealing the man’s short grey-gold hair, his handsome but troubled face.

In a heartbeat, Sherlock noted where the man’s eyes were focused, the tension in his shoulders, the power in his stance.  He knew exactly why the man had come.
