Thinking about Victorian Gender Trinary more (of course) and I think Honourables are able to inherit and individually own property in a way Ladies can't BUT they can't inherit titles. So no Honourables getting Dukedoms or whatever.
Thus, it's very rare for an honourable to be born before the first son. Because it would reduce the inheritance of the son actually getting the title. Nobles would rather have a daughter who inherits nothing and can help with rearing the younger siblings or a son who will carry on the family legacy. (put a pin in this)
Of course there are situations where an elder son or daughter don't conform enough to their gender and thus assigned honourable later in childhood, but in terms of AGAB and birth order? Honourable is usually second or third.
Okay back to the pin, I don't think Honourables can pass on surnames. Like, it's Victorians. Of course they'd have to take their husband's last name.
