honestly it’s not really that big of a deal, but all this bad lore still bothers me. like:
1: the symbiote never made spider-man aggressive
2: i’m pretty sure the symbiote just emulated spider-man’s abilities with the powers that it already inherently had, none of this “genetic code” stuff. it’s not like spidey ever had the power to shape shift or turn invisible.
3: it’s still treating it like venom is something inherent to the symbiote alone despite the fact that that was the specific identity that eddie and the symbiote made together
though for that last point, it’d be kinda cute, and might actually make sense if, the symbiote kept the venom identity because eddie made such a lasting impression on it. to the point that it carried the identity it shared with him wherever it went. even when it wasn't with him. and even when it was hating him. just because their bond was just so strong.
