Last Sunday night, I dreamt of a sunset with a Scripture beneath it open to Isaiah 59. It is all about Israel's spiritual condition-ONCE A REFLECTION OF MY OWN. His arm is not too short to save nor His ear to dull to hear. It was my sins that separated me from Him and cause Him not to hear. My sinfulness had so wrecked me that I did not even want to be saved. I was once like a little boy in George McDonald's poem who said "God, if you cannot make me good, don't bother for I so like it this way". The truth is, I once enjoyed my sinfulness. Every time He put a straight path before me, I turned it quickly into a crooked road. I did not want to be saved from my sins nor did I desire to be delivered BUT BECAUSE OF HIS PASSION-HIS FURIOUS LOVE, HIS OWN ARM  WORKED SALVATION FOR HIM. HE GAVE ME A REDEEMER. HE GAVE ME JESUS. I praise the Lord for He knows me well. He knew what made me afraid- what made me cringe in pain during that day. He came to comfort me. IF OUT OF MY OWN WRETCHEDNESS AND HELPLESSNESS, HE WAS ABLE TO MAKE A WAY FOR ME TO BE SAVED, HE IS WELL-ABLE TO MAKE A WAY FOR EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE. He who did not spare His own Son but give Him up for me-how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give me all things. Isaiah 61: 21 Your sun will never set again and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light and your days of sorrow will end He did confirm it again and again the following hours later.... John 14:1-3 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me. In My Father's house, there are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you also may be where I am. In the Jewish customs, these are the very words a young man would say to his fiancee. Once the suitor secured the hand of his bride, he would return to his father's house and build the additional room that would become their bridal suite. Couples move into the home of the groom's parents. When all is ready, he would come for her and take her to be with Him so that where he is,she would also be. This is the context of our relationship with Christ. He is the Bridegroom-as the Scriptures describes Him- and we- the church, the believers, those who believe and love Him,TRUE CHRISTIANS- are His bride. When Jesus uttered these statements in John, He was actually making a MARRIAGE PROPOSAL to us.... (I cried when I realized this, like any sensible woman would do on the day of her engagement). The truth is mankind's story began with marriage in the Garden of Eden and will also end in marriage (see the Book of Revelations). And yet, OUR GENERATION TODAY ARE ANXIOUS OF BEING SINGLE. This is a very sad reality: WE DO NOT REALLY ALLOW CHRIST TO HAVE FULL ACCESS IN OUR LIVES. WE DO NOT LONG FOR GOD IN THE SAME WAY WE LONG FOR OTHERS. That's why we end up in wrong relationships and being damaged in the process. Listen to this, especially dear young ones: THERE IS MORE TO OUR LIVES THAN THINKING ABOUT WHO WILL BE OUR FUTURE HUSBANDS/SPOUSE, WHEN AND WHERE SHALL WE MEET HIM/HER, ETC. If you feel so empty right now and you think that a relationship will fill the gap, YOU ARE GRAVELY MISTAKEN. Only Jesus can fill that chasm. If you feel so broken right now and you think that an affection from the opposite sex will make you whole, YOU ARE WRONG. The only way to heal that brokenness is by worshipping Jesus. I am figuratively flipping tables right now because I am saying this with a burning passion and a heavy burden in my heart. #holylonging
