Ok so. I love the idea of Hollyleaf and Nightcloud bonding a lot. Just. Hollyleaf in the tunnels and Nightcloud is scouting them and they come across one another. They fight. They stop. They talk. Nightcloud realises that not only was Hollyleaf just as angry about LeafCrow as her, but that she really is innocent in this. She was protecting her kin the only way she could think. She did the same thing Nightcloud would do for Breezepelt.
Nightcloud continues to visit her in the tunnels, teaching her WindClan's techniques for getting around in the dark and small tunnels.
When Hollyleaf is accepted back into ThunderClan, Nightcloud hates it. She feels like she's lost her. They're separated by Clan rivalries and now an enemy warrior knows WindClan's navigation tactics in tunnels. She lashes out, insults her, becomes her usual hostile self. Hollyleaf is, of course, hurt, she understands but she doesn't want to understand. She misses them.
They could get together as mates during the tunnel times, or maybe they both feel it's unrequited - either way it borders on a QPR or its straight up unrequited love.
I love the idea of Nightcloud coming to understand what it's like to truly love another cat though, to not argue, to not fight. An actual healthy relationship. But just out of reach.
