Shunka Warak’in
A creature of folklore that spans centuries, the Shunka Warak’in was described as a large, wolf-like animal holding some resemblance to a hyena. Sightings of it spanned several states in the Northern U.S., all the way from Montana to Illinois. Folklore says that this large canid had the habit of sneaking into Indian camps to carry of their dogs, earning it its name and a fearsome reputation.

So seeing as I really, really want to both get writing overall, and write and put out a Voltron Horror Collection, I’ve decided I’m going to set up a Patreon for the purpose of supporting both the Voltron works and eventually my original writing.

* "BloodCam: InBetween" which is going to be a collection of one-shots filling in the missing year between BloodCam and BloodCam: Hematoma (two are already started)
* And Hematoma has been valiantly warring with me to get rewritten - and several scenes have sprung to life thanks to it.
I'm very..dedicated...to this series. I need to see it through, and I've got a renewed interest to do so. Sorry for the long lack of anything but we'll be back on track soon.

In case you were wondering if I'm planning things out...i finally am putting it down on paper!
One of the concepts I’ve been kicking around has been a sort of “after the fact/scene of the crime” story where the Blades arrive to find that the Paladins have been in a horrible battle that they’d just missed. People are injured, people are missing, and as the Blades try to make sense of the scene and the oddities of what seems to have occurred and try to find the missing Paladins, they become aware that there is another presence there - that what had caused the destruction and carnage they are seeing may still be there among them.
I have an idea of how to do it too - I just can’t quite pinpoint the setting I’d want it in. The inside of a base is cliche and also something I want to use for another story. An outdoor compound set up by the Galra as a temporary base point feels like a better idea.
Done right, I think this idea is an interesting one. I need to decide if it is pre-Keith joining the Blades or after, as well. So many variables to consider!

He felt comfortably numb, limbs languid across his mattress, breaths coming slow and deep. A rattle broke through the quiet of the room, and he frowned drowsily, muttering to himself about space mice and curfews. The rattle came again however, louder this time, accompanied with a sound like something sliding across the floor. It was enough to prickle the senses that had been slowly relaxing, enough to make Hunk crack his eyes open to stare up at the ceiling above. The room was dark, and it took a while for his eyes to adjust. Once they were open, however, he couldn't quite get them closed again, no matter how sleep pulled at him. The unease from before was returning, but it was different this time, somehow more raw. It felt like when he was in the middle of a mission, about to head into a situation he couldn't predict, the unknown looming heavy and frightful over him. "
